How it works
Two numbers are stored for each of the five prayers: how many you owe, and how many you have made up. Everything else on the page, what is left, the totals, the progress bar , is worked out from those, so the summary can never drift out of step with the rows.
Estimating a figure
Most people do not know their exact count. The period box converts a rough span into a number of days, treating a year as 365 and a month as 30, and fills all five rows at once because a missed day is one of each prayer. Those conversions are approximations, which is why they are stated rather than hidden. If you arrive at a firmer number later, type it straight into the rows.
Making corrections
Logging a prayer made up is capped at the number owed, so the tracker cannot show a negative. Lowering an owed figure will not inflate your totals either, made-up counts are only ever counted up to what is owed, and raising the figure again brings your earlier progress back.
What this tool does not do
It does not advise on how missed prayers should be made up, in what order, or over what period. Those questions depend on circumstances and belong with someone qualified to answer them. This is a tally, and it keeps count so you do not have to.
