Ramadan fasting tracker

Tick off each day of Ramadan as you fast it, mark the days you could not, and see the month at a glance. Everything is kept in your browser.

The month

Tap a day to mark it fasted, tap again for missed, and once more to clear it.

Which Ramadan

Optional. Adding it puts a date under each day number.

Length of the month

Switching to 29 days hides the last square but keeps whatever you marked on it, so changing your mind costs nothing.

This month

of 30 days marked as fasted

Missed

Your marks are saved in this browser and will be here when you come back. They are not sent anywhere, and they do not follow you to another device.

Three states, not two

Each day can be unmarked, fasted or missed. That extra state matters: on the tenth day of the month, days 11 to 30 are not failures, they simply have not happened yet. A tick box would lump them together with the days you could not fast, and the number you actually want at the end of the month, how many you owe, would be lost in it.

Changing the length safely

Whether Ramadan runs 29 or 30 days is not settled until the evening of the 29th, so the tracker treats the length as something you will probably change. Switching to 29 hides the last square but keeps whatever was marked on it, and switching back restores it. Nothing you have recorded is ever thrown away by a setting.

Where your marks live

In this browser, on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browsing data clears them, and they will not appear on another device.

Afterwards

Days marked missed are the ones to make up. This tool records the month; keeping count of the fasts you owe and work through afterwards is what the missed fasting tracker is for.

Questions

Why three states instead of a tick box?
Because 'I have not reached that day yet' and 'I could not fast that day' are different things, and a tick box cannot tell them apart. Keeping them separate means that at the end of the month the tracker can tell you how many fasts you actually owe rather than leaving you to work it out.
Are my marks saved?
Yes, in this browser. They survive closing the tab and restarting the device, and nothing is sent anywhere. That also means they stay on the device you marked them on, a month tracked on your phone will not appear on a laptop.
What happens if I switch between 29 and 30 days?
The last square is hidden but whatever you marked on it is kept. Switch back and it reappears untouched. The length of the month is not known until the evening of the 29th, so changing your mind about it should cost nothing.
Do I have to enter the start date?
No. The tracker works on day numbers alone. Adding it just puts a calendar date under each number, which makes it easier to find today at a glance.
Does it count fasts outside Ramadan?
No. This one records the month itself. For fasts you owe and are making up afterwards, the missed fasting tracker keeps a running count.
