Seven circuits, and nothing to configure

A tawaf is seven circuits. That is the whole of what this counter knows about the rite, and the reason there is no target setting here as there is on the tasbih counter, seven is not a number anyone chooses.

Tap at the end of each circuit. The ring fills, the number climbs, and at seven it records a completed tawaf and starts the next one.

Losing count is the actual problem

It is easy to do in a crowd, which is why people count on their fingers, use a ring, or ask whoever they are with to keep track. A counter that remembers between visits solves one specific version of the problem: the interruption. Step out, take a call, come back, and the count is where you left it.

If you have genuinely lost track, no tool can recover it. Ask someone with you, or follow what your group’s guide advises.

Where the count is kept

In this browser, on this device. It is not sent anywhere and it is not shared between devices, so a count started on a phone will not appear on a tablet. That is a deliberate limitation rather than an oversight, nothing about how many circuits you have walked needs to leave your phone.

Whether to use a phone at all

Worth deciding before you travel rather than in the middle of the Mataf. Plenty of people would rather not have a screen in their hand there, and count another way. This tool is here for those who want it. It is not a view about how tawaf should be performed.

What this does not do

It does not tell you what to say, where a circuit starts and finishes, which tawaf you are performing, or what to do if something goes wrong. Those belong in a proper guide or with whoever is leading your group. This counts to seven.
